It’s not often you see a husband (photographer) and wife (architect) team up to create an adorable online shop with treasures they have found during their travels. Bothbfrom italy, but living in London, Atelier Buffo, their beautifully pres ented website, offers customers rare, boho finds from morocco, Italy and beyond!
I know where I’ll be doing my Christmas shopping this year!!!
Francesca, co founder, gives us an insight into her and her life:
What do you do when you’re not working? I plan, I’m always doing or making something. Atelier Buffo keeps me quite busy and London is such a stimulating place, offering never ending things to do from exhibitions to theatre and restaurants.
Did you choose your profession or did it choose you? I chose it. I am an architect in my everyday life. When I moved to London from Italy ,where I was a project manager in a big company, I decided that I wanted a different job, a smaller team and a closer relationship with clients. I love both my jobs, being an architect and sourcing products for Atelier Buffo, meeting craftsmen, learning… It’s a privilege to love what you do, I feel very lucky.
What would you do if you won the lottery? I would definitely travel everywhere!
What is your favorite way to relax? Sunbathing, I am Italian after all! But here I would say reading a book, watching a movie or virtual online shopping
What word do you say most: yes or no? Yes but…
What makes you laugh the most? My husband
What is your favorite holiday? It’s a combination of things: warm weather, new places, culture, food, a bit of adventure. For totally relaxing holidays Liguria or Greece.
What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you? Well, I don’t really believe in fate, it has to be helped. As a series of events I would say moving to London, working with the loveliest people, starting Atelier Buffo, I would have never thought that this would happen.
What’s something you like to do, the old fashioned way? Cooking. I love everything about cooking, I even make jam myself
What is one thing you’re glad you tried but would never do again? Visiting the Karni Mata Temple, the rats Temple, in India
